The West Surrey Guild was first formed 40 years ago in 1979 with just a few members but membership has increased to a current level of about 100 members.  We are affiliated to the National Association of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers, which was formed over 50 years ago.  We meet monthly at The Spire (Formerly The United Reformed Church) in Farnham and also meet 3 or 4 times monthly for spinning and weaving days and a social get together.

Visitors are always welcome to pop in and meet us at meetings or spinning days.

The aims of the Guild are to encourage and maintain integrity and excellence of craftsmanship in handweaving, spinning and dyeing.  We exhibit our work and demonstrate our skills to the general public with a view to keeping the skills alive and encouraging people of all ages to take up a new craft.

Annual membership of £22 for full membership is payable on joining. There is no additional charge for members coming to a meeting.

Non-members are charged £5 per meeting.

We are affiliated to The Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers and all members will receive their newsletter together with our own.

It is not mandatory to join on your first visit, so casual visitors are welcome.  Why not come along to one of our meetings and see if the West Surrey Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers is for you!          If you would like any further information, that is not shown on this website, please feel free to contact us.

The Guild owns an extensive library of useful and relevant books and magazines. The Guild library is at the United Reformed Church and can be accessed on meeting days.  Contact Heather Murray for access and information on the library.

A full list of our huge collection of books DVD's and videos can be found here.  Please note these can be loaned to members only
